|tomorrow is my six month non-smoking-versary

and to go with my lovely sparkly new lungs I have new jeans, new shoes, a new and very short haircut (which I'm not entirely sure about but have been assured it will grow) and a new job.
The job is a one year contract managing on and offline publications for the Respect task force at the Home Office. It all happened in such a rush that I'd handed in my notice before I'd really had a chance to think about whether I wanted to leave - I had a call from a friend on the Home Office interview panel on the Thursday, emailed my CV over, had an interview the following Monday, was offered the job on the Tuesday and quit the next morning.
It's significantly more money than I'm on now and the job itself sounds scary, challenging and interesting in equal parts. Hoorah for nepotism I say.
Unfortunately I'm on two months' notice, and my boss is being an arse about it so I shall be twiddling my thumbs at the Red Cross for some time to come.
More importantly the shoes are an absolutely beautiful pair of hugo boss 3" heels in petrol green suede and leather :o)
