shameless plug [May. 25th, 2006|10:03 pm]
I love love *love* these boots but they just don't fit me - I've worn them twice and nearly crippled myself. They're size 6, but I've got high arches and they're too tight on the top of my feet. the heel is rubber and 4", they've got beautiful turquoise and black lining and they're made from soft black leather. frankly I would keep them just to look at them every now and then, but I've already got more shoes than I can fit in my wardrobe.

llamas humming [May. 6th, 2006|11:59 am]

According to popbitch this week, llamas hum when content.

Surprisingly this appears to be almost true, in that more reliable sources claim llamas hum 'when they are tired, stressed, hot, uncomfortable, curious or concerned.'

It sounds like this.

Naturally I was then reminded of the fantastically annoying llama song - anyone know if this was made before badgers?

Llamas hum would be a good name for a band.

tomorrow is my six month non-smoking-versary [Mar. 25th, 2006|01:47 pm]
[mood |pleasedpleased]

and to go with my lovely sparkly new lungs I have new jeans, new shoes, a new and very short haircut (which I'm not entirely sure about but have been assured it will grow) and a new job.

The job is a one year contract managing on and offline publications for the Respect task force at the Home Office. It all happened in such a rush that I'd handed in my notice before I'd really had a chance to think about whether I wanted to leave - I had a call from a friend on the Home Office interview panel on the Thursday, emailed my CV over, had an interview the following Monday, was offered the job on the Tuesday and quit the next morning.

It's significantly more money than I'm on now and the job itself sounds scary, challenging and interesting in equal parts. Hoorah for nepotism I say.

Unfortunately I'm on two months' notice, and my boss is being an arse about it so I shall be twiddling my thumbs at the Red Cross for some time to come.

More importantly the shoes are an absolutely beautiful pair of hugo boss 3" heels in petrol green suede and leather :o)
